Lab on The Run

Dogs bring us joy by living joyfully. Sounds a bit new-age or corny, but it’s so true. You can always wrestle a dog up to play and their spirit rubs off on you. Just watching this lovely Lab named Lady, chase her stick across the open field time and time again made you smile.

First-Class Mail

This image involved a rascal of a dog named Nacho. On the day of the shoot, his owner, Kathleen, was moving into a community for seniors. Kathleen's friend, Ellen, was watching Nacho and for whatever reason, he was not in a cooperative mood. He kept running off into the hills above where we were trying to photograph him. When Ellen finally caught Nacho and brought him back it was almost nightfall with hardly any remaining light. She turned to me out of frustration and said, "Maybe we should just put him in the mailbox." It calmed Nacho down long enough for me to get this memorable photograph.

When Kathleen settled into her new retirement home, Nacho had full-run of the place and became a beloved resident.
